Private Bank Job versus Government Bank Jobs

Most of the aspirants want to join Government banks but since there is huge competition for these government banks one has to also try for private banks. In this post I will explain the advantages and disadvantages of working in both private and government banks.

First of all let us see the advantages of working in a government bank. The best thing about government banks is the security offered by them as these are government job. That is the reason why students like to keep preparing for government jobs even when they are doing good private jobs. In private jobs there is always a fear of losing the job. And in India it is a general trend to just play safe. Secondly a government job holder is also given a lot of respect in the society. Government jobs have a number of other advantages also like number of leaves is more in comparison to private banks, there is less work pressure and extra benefits other than salary are also present.

Now let’s come to the advantages of private bank jobs. First thing is that it is quite easy to crack entrance of private banks in comparison to the entrance of government jobs. Moreover there is also a lot of growth opportunities there if you are a hard working person. The salary offered by private banks is also now comparable to that given by government jobs. The biggest demerit with these jobs is lack of security.

Thus in conclusion it may be said that keeping the traditional thinking of Indian society Government bank jobs score over the private bank jobs. However if you are not getting selected in government jobs as there is huge competition there you can try for private bank jobs.

Do you really want to become a Bank PO?

I have seen students preparing for bank exams for years. I have also see a number of students of B.tech or M.B.A wanting to enter banks. Are you one of these?

Have you ever thought of the question that do you really want to become a bank PO? If yes then what’s the reason. And are you aware of the nature of the job that you will have to do as a PO. The reason for coming with the post is not to distract you. Recently the topper of IAS 2011 said in an interview that after joining banks she realized that she was not made for this job. Thus she started preparing for civil exams and qualified. Thus I wanted to make you give a second thought to something that describes what you will be doing for your life, yes your job.

In India, however there are very few lucky people who get the chance to do what they want to do in their life. There are a lot of factors that govern the choice of career in India and financial pressure is one of these. However we must try to chase our dreams if we want to remain happy with our performance in the long run. I just hope that everyone of you just go for a career of you interest that makes an excellent and happier worker.
