Common bank exam last date extended

The last date to apply for common bank exam has been extended. Now you can make the payment till 2nd august and apply till 3rd august 2011. This is a source of relief to applicants wh had not been able to apply for common bank exam till now .
On the IBPS website it is written that
Due to Technical issues Registration Services is not available now.Services will be resumed soon.
Payment (Online / Offline) date is extended to 2nd Aug 2011 (upto 2:00 P.M).
Last date for Registration is extended upto 3rd Aug 2011 23:59 hrs.

Thus you need not worry about this technical problem as it will be resolved soon.The online link to apply has been removed till the issue is resolved. It will appear soon when the technical problem is solved and then you can apply for common bank exam.

Bank of baroda clerical staff exam 2011 results

Most of the bank aspirants are waiting for bank of baroda Clerical Staff results 2011. The exam of the Bank of Baroda Clerical Staff were held on 17-04-2011. The results of the bank exam are expected to come very soon and even the BOB has made a declaration about it in its official website.
Here is the declaration from the bank
Final Result for Probationary Officer - Project 2011 and written test result for Clerical Staff - Project 2011 will be displayed on Bank's website within 2 to 3 weeks from 06-07-2011.

As already mentioned in the advertisements Bank shall be filling the following number of vacancies under the above recruitment projects for which the written test was conducted on 13-03-2011 & 17-04-2011 respectively.

Recruitment of Probationary Officer - Project - 2011 - 1200 Vacancies (instead of 900)

Recruitment of Clerical Staff - Project - 2011 - 2000 Vacancies (instead of 1500)

Thus we can expect the Bank of baroda Clerical Staff results soon in the July month only. Once the result is declared I will surely put a link here at the earliest and thus keep checking this website regularly.

How to apply for common bank exam 2011

In this post I will explain in detail that how can you apply for the common bank exam that is going to be held on september 18 2011.

You can apply for the common bank exam only online in between 9-7-2011 and 1-8-2011.The apllication fee is Rs.50 (SC/ST) or Rs.450 (others). You can pay the fees online or offline.

Online payment can be made through Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards (ATM). After paymnet of the fees a e-receipt will be generated. This receipt should be printed and submitted with the call letter at the time of written examination.
Another way to make payment is by NEFT. In NEFT you have to just fill a form in the bank with some details and give the fees in cash or from account in same bank. You can make the payment in any one of the participating banks(Allahabad Bank,Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, UCO Bank & Vijaya Bank). Take the receipt from the bank which will be deposited at time of examination.

In this post I will explain pattern(syllabus) of common bank exam 2011. The subjects that will be asked in the common bank exam 2011 and their marks are as follows:
Reasoning- 50 marks, 50 questions
English Language- 25 marks , 50 questions
Quantitative Aptitude- 50 marks , 50 questions
General Awareness- 50 marks , 50 questions
Computer Knowledge- 50 marks , 50 questions
Descriptive Paper on English Composition- 25 marks.
Total - 250 marks, 250 questions

Duration of objective test for common bank exam is 150 minutes and descriptive tests it is 60 minutes.
Descriptive test for common bank exam will contain questions on Essay, Précis, Letter Writing. The Descriptive Papers of only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective tests will be evaluated.

In this post I will discuss the eligibility for the common bank exam to be held on 18 september 2011.

Educational Qualifications for the Common bank exam

The educational qualification required for the common bank exam is only a a degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Thus here we can see that there is no requirement of any computer certificate for appearing in the common bank exam. Moreover there is no percentage criteria also in the degree for appearing for this bank exam. It is a good news for all the banking aspirants.

Age limit for common bank exam

The age group that is eligible is 20-30 years as on 1.07.2011. Thus if you are below 30 years of age you can easily apply for the common bank exam. This age limitt is only for the general category candidates . There is relaxation for other categories like OBC, SC, ST in common bank exams which is
1. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe- 5 years
2. Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) 3 years
3. Persons With Disabilities 10 years
4. Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the stipulated time) otherwise than b y way of dismissal
or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment - 5 yrs
5. Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 - 5 yrs
6. Persons affected by 1984 riots 5 years - 5 yrs
7. Persons who have completed 5 years of service in RRBs - 5 yrs

Common Bank Exam date announced on September 18

Most of us were waiting for the announcement of common bank exam. Now the wait is over andthe notification for common bank exam is out. The common bank exam will be conducted Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

Vacancies to be filled by common bank exam

The exam will make you eligible for upcoming vacancies of
probationary Officer in 19 public banks - Allahabad Bank,Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, UCO Bank & Vijaya Bank. Thus selection for these banks will be done by common bank exam.

Important dates for Common Bank Exams

Registration date: July 9 - August 1 ,2011
Common written test date: September 18, 2011

Eligibility conditions to apply for common bank exam, as on 1.07.2011

Age should be between 20-30 years
A degree in any discipline from a recognized university is required.
Note: No computer certificate is required

The scorecard will be valid for 1 year. Theare after banks will come up with notifications regarding vacancy in their banks with required eligibility conditions. Successful candidates with valid scorecards will be able to apply.
